I remember the early days of the web, where you opened a members.geocities.com/~username website and was able to build yourself a website online..
Sure it was scattered with ads and banners, ugly marquee text and horrendous colour choices.. but its was the beginning of web2.0 right there.
But now, all this has come to an end, Geocities has been shut down and is now Internet History..

So what does this mean for website builders? One of my brands - http://www.yourbusinesswebsite.com.au is an online small business website builder and we are seeing great uptake in the product and people love the ability to be able to make their own sites..
Does Yahoo closing an website site builder mean that they dont think people want to use it anymore? Or maybe guys like us are biting at their ankles..
What are your thoughts? Were you an early adopter of Geocities?
