    Following everyone here on Twitter

    Feel free to follow me.

    Default Nope

Have to say I just don't get Twitter. People telling me about the minutiae of their lives - why do I care? And on the business related front, why would I subscribe to receive advertising? For the blog's I'm interested in I'd rather get their RSS feed.

What am I missing in the Twitter fad?

I suppose its more of a real time RSS feed.

I purely use it for market specific information, for instance I make home brew beer.. so I follow other brewers and see what they are up to.. I often find out about things happening in that market before it's written and published in an RSS feed.

Recently I have been using it to get deals and discounts on products.. if you follow large vendors like Dell, HP, Apple, or even cashback deal websites - you get instant notice when a deal is offered.

No question. I found something interesting, with the amount of people on Facebook compared to the ones on Twitter. I found a little research(with a few bloggers backing it up) claiming that Twitter is rather more effective than Facebook despite the huge differential in the amount of users. It's just a little news that I'd like to share.

I have always found FB to be superior to Twitter. Would you mind explaining how you generate your traffic from twitter? How do you filter through the spam? I find there are so many programs out there for Twitter that are designed to reply to comments over and over.
I know you need to be engaging but unless you have a celebrity status I find Twitter not worth the effort..

    Just my 2c worth..

Good question, Bob. Actually I just use a few plugins here and there that I won't even bother to mention but it is what it is. I know that the results won't be consistent just like yours and mine but that's totally natural. Some people get more traffic from Facebook, some do from Linkedin, some do from Twitter, we all have different targeted markets.

And yes, the crazy thing about Twitter is that it's full of spam. Also another reason why some people don't even bother trying it out but you never know what you'll find.

I can't say I'm particularly interested in using twitter, I always thought of it as being somewhat pointless. However, the insane networking capabilities it brings may be good for my business
