    Default Best CMS Software

    Hi Everyone

I was just wondering what everyone thought of Joomla (the CMS I currently use) or any other CMS software.

Has anyone else had any experience with Drupal or any other CMS?

I have several Drupal sites. Once you work out what extra modules you need (not necessarily the easiest thing to do) they work pretty well.

Online Photographic Dictionary | Online Photographic Dictionary and Encyclopedia is built in Drupal, using the Taxonomy module (part of the core) to categorise it. Its a very simple site though.

I also have a couple of Invision forums and had a Wordpress site at one stage, but keep winding up back with Drupal.

Edit: we have two Wordpress sites now as well, just to add to the mix - and another one with an out of the box script that is purpose built, not a CMS.

According to me, Wordpress is the best CMZ. I always prefer Wordpress. Well, agreed that Joomla is very powerful, but Wordpress is quite interesting. I found WordPress to be straightforward to install and use.

As always, I try to promote web123. Its more of a website builder + CMS. I've created some sites which could look at for example sake. I can't post links yet, but google ''mootwo'' , "brides of wagga" or "integrated airport solutions iasaustralia" and you should find them.

Its really straight forward, and great for designs.

I like the flexibility of joomla but find wordpress is easier to teach non-techy computer users to manage their websites. The community and plugins for wordpress seem to be a bit more expansive too which I find handy.

for what i need, i think Joomla is the best CMS software, but it actually depends on what the client/website owner's NEEDS for his site, because there are several CMS that are designed for specific purposes like E-commerce, Shopping Cart technology etc

but what makes joomla stand out from the rest of it's likes - is that there are a lot of ready to use templates and i mean a lot - to choose from

I have also used both Wordpress and Joomla but strongly recommend my clients use Wordpress. I have a set of plugins that I install which gives all my clients a great starting point and they find it easy to use.

I am using Wordpress now but previously started using joomla and drupal, and found the amount of functionality in joomla was excessive and drupal i just found it hard to install

I've used Joomla a bit and Drupal a lot. I never quite got the hang of Joomla, it seemed small changes to code often resulted in very unclear error messages so I stopped using it. I've found Drupal a lot more user friendly and use that mainly now,

    Cheers,

Hi guys there is an almost identical thread in the Websites and Marketing forum. I posted there as well but we have used Joomla for 4.5 years almost as long as its been around. We've built hundreds of sites in it and its a very powerful and scaleable system which is not too hard for clients to get their heads around. I wouldn't say the same thing about Drupal from my limited experience with it which was it was very confusing even for a web developer. Our main site webcircle.com.au runs on Joomla. We have also built stacks of Wordpress site and its the one we use for our small business website packages. Our small business website design blog runs on Wordpress. Its easy to use, and a better choice for a simple site but not as scalable and it's not without its quirks.
