Newsletter subscribers
I was looking at a competitors website the other week and they offer a V8 lap at Eastern Creek for a prize to those who subscribe to their newsletter.
How would you go about implementing something like this, and how would you randomly select someone from the database?
I was thinking of doing something similar with other offers.

Hey JustInSigns,
This method would be the most simple.
Create an excel document with a number sequence from 0 to 100 (If you get 100 people on your list).
When a customer signs up to your newsletter obtain their contact information and input it into the excel document next to numbers, starting at 0 and working your way down as you obtain more contacts.
When your offer has finished and you’re ready to draw the competition
Go to this site
http://www.mathgoodies.com/calculato...no_custom.html
Insert the lowest limit as 0 and the highest limit as 100 (If you have 100 contacts).
Then you'll be provided with a random number.
Which you then cross reference with the number in your excel doc to find the winner and their contact details.
If you’re looking for a prize to provide, why not provide a free product or an exclusively discounted product.
This will cost minimal to your business and should be more appealing to a customer on your newsletter.
Although a V8 super car ride would be exciting, don’t they cost a few hundred dollars to purchase?
Just be sure to provide an exclusive offer to entice prospects to join your newsletter rather than your competitions.
Hope this helps.
