    Default Hello from Manly, QLD

    Hi to Everyone,

I'm an ex-The Messy Desker who is looking for a new forum home.

My name is Rochelle, I'm a freelance Graphic Designer with a marketing background, who also designs and creates contemporary lingerie and jewellery with a vintage twist.

So quite busy, but looking forward to participating in the forum.

Hey Rochelle, Welcome to AT, great to have you on board - why an ex-messy desker?

Sounds like you have some creative flair.. which do you enjoying doing more, the graphic design, lingerie or jewellery?

    Welcome to AT Rochelle.

How long have you been in business for?

lol ex-TMD because I changed my email address in my profile, which has now led to me being locked out of my account for over a month, so sadly no access to the forum.

The balance of the three areas is a little hard to achieve at times, especially when I am juggling a deadline with an upcoming market stall.

For me each design area is a different process, Graphic&Web Design is much more technical process, until recently I have always been employed in-house, so close to ten years of learning and skills building.

Jewellery Design is much more of a manual process and something I started with 6 years ago, because I couldn't find anything that I liked in the market place. I specialise in using raw materials such as gemstones, freshwater pearls etc. Each piece is unique or limited edition, and has its own story to tell.

The vintage inspired lingerie is my new baby, and came about because of my obsession with vintage cottons and lace. So a little bit of trial and error, but the end results do the fabrics justice.

Sounds great, seems like you made businesses out of your interests - not a bad way to start!

Do you have a website of any of the stuff you do?
    Knowledge is power.

Yeah, it helps quite a bit that I love what I am doing.

My two websites are www.thecitruscollective.com.au (Graphic Design) and www.rochellestone.com.au (jewellery). My lingerie is only sold at the markets at present.
