    Default Hello all

    Hi there,

I'm brand new here and just wanted to say hello.

I am in the process of packing in the day job, relocating to the Gold Coast and living my dream of running my own business.

Hopefully I can get some great advice and help from you guys?

    Cheers, Steve.

    Welcome to the forums!

So what brought you to the decision to pack in your day job and move to the Gold Coast? What sort of business do you want to start?

Hopefully we can be of help!

    Thanks for your welcome.

Well I think like most people I've always wanted to be my own boss, but never had the balls to give it a go. I've worked for several companies under the golden handcuffs scheme they call share options and the last one where I was at for six years went the same way as the rest, they ran out of money, were taken over and the options were virtually worthless, so I left.

Since then I've been working for a company who has no idea about staff loyalty or moral, and so I just thought to myself, I've had enough of working to line these people's pockets (although to be fair the pay isn't bad), and thought I would give my own business(es) a go for a while.

We're currently in the UK and have a PR visa, and so we've always loved the life that the Gold Coast has to offer, so we decided, lets take the savings we have and try out going alone for 6 months or so.

I already run two small scale (hobby) websites, but really think there is many more services and features I can add to them in order to make them profitable (hopefully).

When we arrive in the Gold Coast I'd really like to talk to a business advisor and get a good accountant who can give me guidance on the best way to set up a business, any ideas?

    Cheers, Steve.
