    Red face Living in London

Ok, I thought I would start this one off.

I have been Living and working in London now for about 18 months, the sheer amount of people here makes it an extremely interesting place to live.. not to mention the amount of oppurtunity that passes by every day! I'll grab one of them soon.. I promise!

It does feel like London is the home of the Entrepreneur, lots of business, lots of money, and lots of success.. every day there are about 3-4 episodes of dragons den, secret millionare or some other inspiring show... this city is the number one example that anyone can do it, and trust me I am gobsmacked at how some people can and do suceed!

The UK promotes and encourages Entrepreneurship here as they know its good for the economy.. and I do hope Australia starts to take heed and do the same thing!

I've only been over that side of the world once and I had a great time there are so many people its crazy, I have always thought all you would need is for 5% of the population to give you $1 a day.. and you would be rich now.. just to find out how to get that $1

    Anyone got any ideas?

on the flip side to the idea that London is a great place for entrepreneurs.

I believe Australia is better, because of our limited population it makes succeeding in business much harder. And because of the challenge many of us rise up to the challenge succeed and then when we expand to the overseas market absolutely kill it.

I truely believe if you can succeed in Australia then you will make an absolute fortune in either the UK or America.

Yea I do agree with that take on things as well, I guess its a lot harder to actually measure your success in such a large market potential due to population and established wealth.

If you can succeed on the back of a smaller population and then use that knowledge on a huge market and succeed.. well that would be fantastic.

There is always a huge amount to be learned from the differences in each markets and any extra knowledge is always of value.

I agree with you Carl. And it works the other way as well. Just because you have succeeded in a country where there are alot of people etc, then it doesn't meen it will be just as easy to do the same thing with a limited population and a smarter consumer.

I had a hand in producing a promotional product that originated in spain. The expectation was that the product would replicate the success it experienced in a country with a population of approx. 40 Million and a much younger promotional market into a country of half the amount (approx. 20 Million) and a promotional industry that is much more advanced, mature and educated.

Anyway, i think i'm babbling now.

I have been in London - on and off, for past 8 years. (visited many timesbefore but now partly living).

Yes here is a very positive business atmosphere. I have not seen the same inthe other places I live (Sweden, India, etc). Every place should do this, havelots to offer both starts-ups and established companies, lots of businessnetworking and much more. So if you miss the same – why not start somethinglike that where you live yourself.
