Default What is your best peice of advice?

So what would be the best piece of advice you would give someone who is thinking of starting a business? i.e; if you could have known then what you know now.. what would it have been?

I would offer advice of don't get caught up in Paralysis Analysis, i.e; don't over analyze things so much that nothing happens, they key to success is to take action.

Another piece of advice is never stop marketing your business, do not become complacent. I have spoken to a lot of businesses who had been extremely busy for 3-4 months and done extremely well and are now wondering why they aren't doing well at all.. it was because during those 3-4months, they stopped marketing and promoting their business, and their sales funnel dried up.

The key is to be always promoting your business, ensure you have a strict marketing plan that you adhere to no matter how busy you are, always set aside time for promotion.

Maybe set yourself a goal to contact 10 new leads every week, even if you are flat out make sure you do this... as they say in sales you need to keep your 'sales funnel' as full as possible at all times!

I totally agree with what you have just said. Takes an experienced person to know this!

My advice would be never stop trying.. so many people seem to stop trying after they fail once, even twice, failing leads to success! The only way you can succeed is to learn from your mistakes.

Think of when you learn to ride a bike, what happened when you fell off? did you give up? Nope.. you got back on and tried again.. then you fell off again, did you give up then? no! You keep trying until you nailed it!

Business is just the same, keep trying until you nail it!

My advice would be to plan, make yourself small goals and put your plan into action.

As mentioned above, don't just sit there going over and over your plan. Set yourself some small goals, related to your plan, and take action by setting out to achieve these goals.

As you achieve goals make more goals and knock those over as well. A lot of small goals adds up to achieving your big, out of reach goal.

Be prepared to take a risk. In the end, you must have "thick skin" and be willing to put it all on the table. Remember, MOST BIG WIGS supposedly didn't have a prayer either.

My advice would be to model excellence. It's pointless to try to reinvent the wheel. You will save time, effort and money by following what others have done to achieve their success before you. Seek a mentor to fast track your journey.
