Hi, here is the thought of the day and perhaps, the need of the day too, as I personally believe that online businesses are like 'nothing' without blogs. What's your opinion about it?
Hey Cathy,
I guess that depends on what your online business is? A blog is only useful if it gets updated often, an out of date blog is probably worse than no blog at all.. would you think?
However, if we look at a blog from an SEO point of view, then I highly recommend a blog - one of my recent clients was getting very average SEO results, we implemented an optimised blog, encouraged frequent updates and now that site is ranking extremely well.
What are your thoughts?
Hi,
my latest blog at http://jasebishop.com has been up for about three months now, It is rated on Alexa in the top 24,77% of all websites for traffic, has 31 backlinks and has 81 indexed pages on Google, all the SEO done by hand. I haven't really been hammering it that much either.

I agree blogs can be a very powerful tool when it comes to SEO, but if it isn't done correctly it can be dangerous. I always recommend starting a blog with an independent url. If not and you do not have knowledge with on page SEO, you could seriously demage your sites rankings.
My advice is be carefuly when starting blogs and research before diving in!

Yeah guys, all of you're so right, but i think maintenance of your blogs is a must, because everyday, the keywords that rank your blog up get shuffled as almost all of the companies and businesses are doing SEO to keep their blog up on daily basis. So, this way, we can simply say that one day's negligence may lead your blog to the era of stones. Isn't it?
Regularly, I have a break for a few days from posting and I'm still climbing the rankings. I imagine that I will probably get to the point, though, when I'm doing 90% of the work for 5% of the results. I'm interested to see how far up the rankings I will get before that happens. There are other tricks I use other than just optimising my blog SEO, however.
To the TOP!

If you are chasing number one spot in google then having a blog makes it easy to add new and fresh content on a regular basis thats why I like WP it is easy to add both pages and post articles to a blog.

I agree to both of you Steve and Jase, because maintenance, up-gradation and SEO all are mandatory to keep your site up. If you can do it on regular basis, it's good otherwise, twice or thrice in a week is also a good option.
Hi,
just to totally blow my own trumpet for a bit, my blog, which had 31 backlinks two days ago now has 83 backlinksI'm just about to do some analysis to see where they all have come from.
Talk about making my day.
