Post Read This before posting! - Some Tycoon Rules

Thanks for being a part of Australia's most popular Online Business and Entrepreneur Community

This Forum is all about Australian entrepreneurs and people who wish to connect to Australian entrepreneurs (wherever you are in the world) sharing, collaborating, informing and entertaining.

It is a place to discuss and learn about launching, owning, operating and growing your business. It is also a great place to keep abreast of business opportunities.

These are exciting times. As the world continues to face a range of economic upheavals that look like they will continue to impact Australia there has never been a more important time to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs who have the courage, passion, motivation and capabilities to start and grow great Australian businesses.

Your reasons for building an Australian business may be personal. The positive impact it has on the Australian economy is global. It is something all members of Aussie Tycoon should be proud of!

There are just a few ground rules that you need to be aware when being a part of this community, just so we can keep the information and content as relevant and helpful as possible.

    Posting & Replying to Threads

We have put some restrictions on how new members can interact and post on the forum, these are all related to each members post count, and how they use the forums.

    The post count restrictions are as follows;

    Create New Threads

    - You will only be able to create a new thread in the Introductions forum when you first login, so make sure you introduce yourself!
    - If you don't do this, you won't be able post at all in the forums.
    - You will then need at least 3 posts (you can post in forum topic) before you can create a thread in another forum, so make sure you welcome people to the forums, vote in polls and get communicating!

    Posting Links & Images

    - You need to have at least 10 posts before you can post links and images in any thread

    Signature Links

    - You need to have at least 10 posts before you can put a link in your signature.

We think these rules are pretty easy to adhere to, and we hope taking these measures will ensure the quality of the community will grow and we will continue to be the leading forum of its kind in Australia.

    ------

    2012 update:

    Change

We continue to work on a range of very exciting changes at Aussie Tycoon that will boost the value equation to all Members (and casual visitors). In addition to an improved look, we are adding new features and services in 2012.

So hang in there while we set about making Aussie Tycoon even better!

    Advertising

We are sensitive that many Members consider too many low grade ads on forum sites as bad as spam. So any advertising offers we agree to run on Aussie Tycoon must offer value and be absolutely relevant to our Members.

Contact us if you are interested in advertising.

    Spam

Spam is an insult and will not be tolerated.

Our community warmly welcomes new members and your contribution. As entrepreneurs we even like the promotion of your product/services as long as you deliver value to Members. After all, this community is all about Australian business.

Feel free to promote your business in the Promote Your Business or Website thread. You can also offer value to other members by responding to questions posed by other members (of course, with a relevant link in your signature) and by posting new threads.

Just please avoid spamming the community.

Well done, hopefully it will keep some of the spammers out.

The next step is to work out how to keep the 'talent' around. We seem to have good people come and go, we need to keep them here!

Its a slow website. I pop back here every couple of weeks to see if there is something worth adding to, just to keep it all growing.

Spam can be the death of a website. Stopping people from PMing before they have 10 posts is also a good one to add to the excellent list you have there, I've had issues with spammers signing up and PMing everyone with some crap before they post.

    Hello everyone,

I was reading this post with interest. I've just registered today, and it's been interesting to see the different rules on here, compared to something like the flyingsolo forums.

Having said that, I can understand the reasoning behind these rules, and I guess it tries to encourage legitimate (and useful) interaction between forum members.

Anyway, how are you all? Any tips for using these forums?

Cheers for the feedback guys, while we have had some negative feedback about the rules, so far its been a really good move, the spam has decreased dramatically and we are now getting some great posts and members... such as you guys!

We are always looking to improve, so feel free to continue the feedback.

    Happy Tycooning.

Hi Sirs, This is my first time at Tycoon. I found the forum by searching from Google and seriously concerned on forums' penalty. Thanks for sharing.

I am Thai, and Eng is not my native language. Hence, please kindly suggest if you found some missing grammar in any my next post. )
