I'm also sorry to disappoint you with my response, but it looks home made and it doesn't tell me at all that you're a designer. From the logo alone, I would assume you sell monitors or MP3 players. I really don't see anyone approaching you for design services based on your own logo.

    Hi themedialad,

You may want to try a different approach. Design it yourself using downloaded software from the net. I use Logomaker from studio-v5. It's $29 bucks and easy to use. You can start from scratch or like me use one of the many templates and change accordingly. Works a treat and professional looking.

    Regards

    Hi jameskodo85,

I do have an IT background but I now appraoch IT from a business point of view. I also teach micro businesses how to use the internet at the least cost.
I am a great believer in the 80/20 rule. That is if I can get 80% of what I require for 20% of the cost I go for it. For example I can live with not having a .com.au web address and just use .biz. (see post). I have found people spent 80% of their money on getting the extra 20% of their requirements. This point can be debated either way and there are exceptions, people with money to spare and large corporations etc it is just my approach.
You may want to read a couple of my other posts.
To answer your question, no I am not into graphic's, only I did have someone do a logo for me, at a cost, and figured I could do it better at a fraction of the cost hence my post.
I was able to use one of the templates with a couple of quick changes and I have a logo. The 80/20 rule applied but I also have complete control of my logo.
As a side line, when I was designing my logo I had a number of different logo's that could have been used in my business and asked a number of friends and work mates to choose which one they liked. Only 2 people chose the same logo. Hence I thought that I had to have a logo but in the end a logo was a logo, what my clients realy wanted was quality, service and value.

    Hi stewardrobinson,

Not to sure what you are trying to say in your message. If I read it correctly you are correct in that the 80/20 rule does not apply to running a serious business. In the past when setting up businesses I spent time on things that took up to much time that did not add value to the business. For example logos, top of the range accounting systems etc when I should have been out getting and developing relationships with clients.
Quality, Service and Value have to be 100% within a business.

Sorry, but it doesn't really tell me what you do. I agree with Brandon. I've also heard 99designs is a great option.
You're smart to ask for opinions before launching. It's hard to be objective when you've worked so closely with a project. Don't rush and don't give up!

    Best wishes!
