    Default Logo

    Hi,

I previously had an account here (dnicholls) but due to closing the e-mail address I decided to re-register under my new business name, The Media Lad. At the time I was considering looking into running my own business which I have now begun to set up and am beginning to design and sell business cards, flyers, magnets, stationary and of course websites.

The main thing I've spent time on is a correct set up and I've finalised my logo this morning (attached) and wanted to get everyone's thoughts on it. I wanted to see how it is received by other people and I appreciate honesty. I am hoping it portrays a creative, not too serious approach to design which is able to reach the global market...

    Thanks,
    Dwayne.

Don't want to offend but if want honesty then I think although you've capture the feeling you mentioned to me (been a grapho for about 10 years) it looks too home made. Sorry...

Looks like you do sound. On the computer. But you say you do graphics?

In my humble opinion, it doesn't look professional enough for a serious business.

Oh please don't be disheartened from their own point of views towards your logo... and please forgive me, I do agree to all their comments that you need to improve your logo especially you are offering related to designs. Your logo should have a strong and quality image so your prospect clients get attracted to it and believe that you are indeed capable for the said job. :-)

A logo is a graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos are either purely graphic (symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the organization

Hey Dwayne, I have to agree with the others the logo looks very amatuer.. almost like its just done in photoshop and a few filters added to it.

If I were you, I would look at getting someone professional to do your logo... and if you did.. get someone else!

Another alternative is to submit your job or buy a ready made logo from a place like 99designs.. - http://99designs.com/logo-design

99designs get's a big thumbs up from me. I used them for my Equita logo (see my avatar) and I have another project with them at the moment for Trade Insure. From around $250 you can't really go wrong.

Logo should be appealing as it represents unique corporate identity of your organization. An attractive logo exhibits your professionalism and attracts clients towards your business.
