2D Barcode Sticker as Your Accounts Payable Clerk

I've recently been using Billstrust at billstrust.com and wanted to share this great idea with members who get heaps of bills and invoices and are sick of managing payments of them.

Basically this Australian business sends me a bunch of QR code stickers which I stick on any bill or invoice and i whack it on the fax machine and that's it.

I can see the bill queued up in my online account and when it gets paid on the due date, I get an SMS message and email. So it's like having an A/P clerk without having to pay for one.

The bills/invoices only get paid at the last possible moment or if I want to delay payment on any of them and manage my cash flow, such as some supplier invoices, I can quickly set a time delay.

I like it because it gets the bills out of my hair without me having to cede control or authorisation of them, because I'm still authorising them with the sticker so I'm kept in the loop as much or as little as I want.

I wonder what trust issues there are with having access to credit card information or other types of payment info.

Hi Brendan, no BillsTrust was recommended to me by my accountant. The service was started by Craig Winkler who used to own MYOB. I thought it was worth a check out and really love it as a time saver. I guess the trust issue never came into it for me as i've also been using XERO accounting and never had a problem - all the data is secure and encrypted with SSL.

Now that I've been using for a while it's pretty cool, all my business data now displays in a tag cloud so can see on a recurring basis what my accounts payable is looking like and how to optimise my cash flow. They've recently added new free account groups to all their plans so i can now have bills paid automatically from my personal bank account and from my business bank account and track it all separately. It also serves as an archive of bills which i must admit i don't look at too much but it's good knowing if i had to look something up it's easy to get to.

But the best thing is no data entry really, the SMS and email i get when bills are paid on the due date gives me the comfort i need to know that the service is working for me.
