So I've decided to take the leap and launch my own online blog.
The link is emroy.com.au (http://www.emroy.com.au/blog) if you'd like to check it out.
I'm trying to get RSS feed working (I've never worked with them before) but apart from that, everything is pretty much good to go.
Any thoughts / critiques?

Hi Jake,
Good work on getting the blog up. Action is great to see.
I kinda like the theme - maybe a few more colours or pictures to grab the readers attention more? For example you could put an example of a memorable business card on the article about memorable business cards.
The content seems pretty good - the articles are not too long (this is something I struggle with - the trade off between explaining things in enough detail vs. keeping the readers attention).
I understand that you have just started the blog - but what is the end goal? - are you going to try and build up the readership / following and then leverage it off to your own business / products / affiliates?
I am not sure how much knowledge / reading you have done on making a successful blog, or even what the goal of the blog is - but I have been following a Brisbane guy called Yaro Starak from http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/ and he has some sensation information regarding setting up and running a successful blog.
I hope this helps!
Good luck and keep going with it!
Kris

Hi Jake,
I couldn't find the link to your blog on the site...maybe I am missing something?

PS: Sorry meant to post in the previous post - Like Kris said, you do need to identify the end goal of having the blog since that will dictate the tone you take in the blog. On it's own the site itself is nice and neat and looks easy to navigate. Good work.

Hey Jake,
Blog looks nice and clean.. but the others are right.. what are you trying to achieve?
Are you looking to generate leads? If so.. how are you capturing those leads? There is no phone number, or contact form?
There is nothing on the site that makes me want to click through and see more.. I look, read for 10 secs then go somewhere else.
You need a goal.. what do you want your visitors to do? How can you engage visitors with your site/business/product?

Thanks for the feedback guys ...
Brendan - Good points ... I'm not really planning on using it to heavily promote my printing business, but just add some subtle links there.
I've updated the advertisements since last time I posted ... So have a look now ... I'm going to add a few more for niche products that I offer.
Really nice design, Blogs can be great for a business especially from an SEO point of view..
Were you thinking of integrating it to you main site?

You really have to go a long way, getting a blog is like moving 1st step. Over the period of time, you really had to build a great blog, with great content. You have to ensure that you are promoting your blog to get tons of traffic and finally making good amount of money. But you have to make sure that you are working hard to get your goals.
All the best to you.
