Hello, I’ve just launched a new web-business, building websites that are low cost & no fuss.

The idea is that even for DIY websites there’s lots to learn to get a website up and running. So the idea behind Netbuild is to provide a basic website, without the business owner having to spend many hours doing their own.

All feedback most welcome

It might work.. but places like Your Business Website (http://www.yourbusinesswebsite.com.au) are cheaper again and offer more.

I am sure what you offer is a premium and fantastic service, but how will you deal with clients who find products that are cheaper and appear to offer more?

Sure it will work,
people make (informed) purchase decisions based on quality, service and price - if you can meet all 3 criteria you will do well.
2 pages is a bit slim - I would up this to 5
you need a track record ( and good sales skills)
may have to do a few at a discount to get going

I agree, the best way to go is start off cheap

when I say cheap, take caution I dont mean sell yourself short.
Emphasize on the value you have to give to your potential customers and quality.

Be a bit more creative, it is a very competitive industry Offer something
also different you might have to invest a bit of time thinking of something to offer that is different

Also dont forget were coming out of a recession alot of business owners are on a budget to build their business, you should give them a price that if they can see they can make a huge saving from their budget you provide satisfaction, in turn they will be happy to provide testimonials referrals and all that other wonderful stuff.

good luck with it and I hope it works well!

David,

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I don't think your website is appealing at all.

I've read through your code and it's incredibly messy. Are you planning on designing your clients websites like this? If so, it's going to be difficult for future website designers of theirs to make modifications.

It also appears that you've used a template, I could be mistaken, but just based on the code explanations that are placed periodically throughout the website ... And there is a CSS stylesheet in the body?

The price is too expensive for a 2 page website. I'd suggest a minimum of 5 for that price.

There are also a few little broken parts you need to fix up, such as on the "optional extra" page, the border aren't right.

I agree that the price is a bit high for a two page site. Through elance.com you can find guys in India doing pretty complex sites for less than a grand, and their work is generally pretty good.
