Hang on, I cannot be the only one who checks their main competitors' websites on a daily basis...?

justinsigns
17-03-10, 08:47 PM
Kathy, no you are not the only one.

I keep track of all competitors within a 50km radius by checking their websites weekly.

I wont service this entire area but you get alot of information from the marketplace and what competitors are doing.

Other than competitors sites, this forum, google and my industry association website would be the most visited sites I go to.

That's interesting. I've recently been reading 'The 4 Hour Work Week' So far it's been quite a good read. One of the things it talks about is how much time we waste doing things like this.

I used to visit many news related sites regularly but am now trying to cut them down to once a week. So far I think it's made a noticeable impact on my productivity.

One you should visit weekly is the Creativity building challenges in my signature. It will, amongst other things, make you a better problem solver.

One you should visit on a weekly basis is http://creativitygames.net
It's a site I have just created to help improve your creativity.
Every week I post a simple creativity game and a thought provoking question. They only take a few minutes but over time you will notice an improvement in your creativity. I'm soon to add a weekly creativity boosting challenge as well.

Plugging my own site but it is something I find very useful.

I visit this Random Word Generator (http://creativitygames.net/generator) every morning. I generate a few random words (the number varies depending on how I'm feeling) then make it fullscreen. I then spend a few minutes moving the words around, putting them into different groups and formations and just seeing what ideas and thoughts it sparks.

I find it jumpstarts my creative thinking for the day nicely.

Two websites I use daily are the following:

http://mylists.creativitygames.net - It's a simple to do list system. I load my days tasks into it and it helps me stay on track.

http://ideagenerator.creativitygames.net - It's an inspiration tool.

I created both of these so any feedback would be welcome also.
