In this section there is no secret that we have websites either selling products or information in one form or another to generate wealth or your just a hobbies.

Either way we want as many people visiting our website on a daily basis, so lets network and share our experience in optimizing unique visits to our websites so we can help each other improve traffic.

My website LED WORLD ---LED Displays, Solar LED Lights, Flashing T-Shirts, Video Glasses (Powered by CubeCart) (http://www.ledworld.com.au) Almost finished but trying different traffic methods.1) Registered to Google search Engine
2) Downloaded Gsite Crawler ( Crawls google/yahoo the net with you website, makes sitemap)

3) A couple of you tube videos ( dont think this has done much)

Hits? We are getting around 5 unique visits per day

We would like to have around 300-500 per day...

okay now your turn people.

I have submitted to alot of online directories and search engines to get high quality incoming links, and invested in SEO.

We get around 27 uniques a day on an average. Looking at YouTube videos to show what we can do on the cnc router.

Site has only been up around 2 years and is aimed at a very specific market.

Hi LED,

In order to get more traffic, (and I am only talking about non paid traffic at this stage) is to ensure that your site is ranking well in google for keywords that your customers are using, and a good ranking in google usually means better traffic to your site!

There is no point ranking well in google for keywords that aren't being searched for or aren't relevant to your site - check out Google Trends (http://www.google.com/trends) for some research on this.

Google is a smart cookie, they basically want to make sure that the sites they rank within the top listings organically are good quality and relevant to what the user is searching for.

For them to be able to assess whether or not your site is the most relevant for the search terms entered, they do some analysis on your site, this is usually comprised of, on page relevance, and off page relevance.. let me explain;

On Page Relevance (This is how Google indexes your actual site) includes;
- Specific keywords within your page
- Descriptions, Titles, and meta tags containing relevant keywords
- Content within your site that contains relevant keywords
- Unique, fresh content ( this means every time that google indexes your site they get fresh content that is nowhere else on the internet, and contains relevant keywords)

Off Page Relevance (Google looks at what other sites link to your site) includes;
- Backlinks from Authoritative sites - i.e; if you get a backlink from Ninemsn with your keywords in the link, then this is a VERY good backlink, as opposed to your sisters blog about nail polish putting a link to your site. The more backlinks you have from well ranking or authoritative sites means the better google will place you in their search engines.
- Unique content; although you are constantly providing unique content on your actual website, it pays to share the love. You should write articles, blogs, reviews, and participate in other autoriative sites and submit unique content to them with your keywords and links back your site. Google loves to see you adding information to the internet, and if its unique, keyword relevant and contains backlinks to your site.. they will give you a pat on the back.

So.. now that you know that, what can you do?

- research relevant keywords that your customers will be using
- use these keywords approapriately within your site
- create and refresh unique content on your site regularly
- participate with other networks and provide useful content

It is a lot of work to get more traffic to your site.. but it is worth it in the end!

Good luck!

for any new sites looking at instant traffic then get into adwords. This will kickstart some traffic and then make sure that when people land on your site that you offer them a free subscription, or something so even if they don't buy, you have them for later to email to.

Targeted ads in speciality ezines or newsletters.

As mentioned backlinks are important and easier to get if you have good content with reader value in addition to just stuff for sale.

There are stacks of good reads out there about keywords and keyword density - SEO is not rocket science and worth spending an hour a day for two weeks getting your head around.
