How do you buy shares?

With shares dropping in price I am looking to buy some in the next few months, but I don't know where to start? Should I use a stock broker, or is there somewhere online that I sign up to and buy via that?

Hi Gerry,

There are some great opportunities around right now.
To get started sign up for an account with one of the online guys, rather than use a phone based stockbroker the fees are much more affordable.

E*Trade or Commbank are what i would recommend, however you will find any bank has a stock trading platform that integrates usually into your online banking logon.

It does pay to look around, but I know Etrade is pretty good
