If you could spend $10 $20 $30 or $40.00 per month to better yourself, what would you do with it or in what would you spend it?
I just like to know how different people will react to this changes in life.

In my case I used to be a smoker 5 years ago, until I decided that I wanted a rear projector to watch my favorite movies so what I did was stop smoking, the money I was blowing in smokes I put it in a shoe box. In no time at all I had saved up $600 dollars then i continues to save until I was able to purchase the rear projector.

that was enough drive to continue with my money project from then on until today.

I'd do the following:

1. put extra into paying off my home mortgage - at current interest rates, on a compounding basis, the home mortgage is a great "effective return" scenario i.e. 9%pa effective return - tax free!

2. buy gold - if the economy tanks and we hit the skids, gold could be a useful think to have, so I would add to my current stash of bullion.

3. put money into a managed investment fund - I am putting money aside every quarter to place into some good, capital protected, diversified funds.

I guess it depends on what your future goals and strategies are.

I personally am looking into property investment, so all my cash goes into an offset account so I can pull it back out to buy more properties.

I have heard of people saving to start small businesses, or investing it in term deposits or managed funds.

All personal preferences really, depends if you want to spend it on investing in wealth or doo-dads.. or both :)
