Hey everyone from Australia,
Is the reseller method good in your country? But then again, if we eliminate the middle man by marketing ourselves through e-marketing... is it not better?
What are the pro and cons of this both strategies for the Australian target market?

Resellers are good if they can provide all or some of:
single point of contact for various products/services
single SLA for a range of product/services
single/simplified maintenance contracts for range or product/services
discounting based on range/volume
history of service
management of maintenance renewal
It is about convenience, and this is something the customers are prepared to pay the middle person for....

Resellers are good.. because all i got to worry about is the packaging and the mark-up prices they are going to do (which is then totally none of my business).
But aren't resellers hard to find? :s Especially when I am totally clueless on the Australian community and who's who to trust is still an issue... hmmm

How about you approach the market from a buyer perspective. Approach resellers who sell either a competitor's product or similar products (same domain).

Me physically not being in Australia does not really help me in determining it from a buyer's perspective.. but nonetheless, your point can still be pondered upon and researched.
Man.. somehow, i feel i'm getting underpaid for my job.. haha :p

Isn't this the whole point of doing business over the net?

yeah, you're right :)
From your other threads:
1) Software.
2) Pensioners.
3) Reselling.
Are you selling a get-rich-quick software package to get people off pensions? So you'd be wanting to sell this software somewhere lots of pensioners shop? Try the cheaper department stores as resellers - Target, K-mart, Big W. They have lots of cheap software that pensioners buy.

I have decided that my target age is 24-54 as the purchase of goods on internet is highest among the other groups.
When you put your ads on the papers.. i dont think it will go wrong because the ad is open to everyone :)
And well, this business is actually for anyone.... who of course wants to start and run their own business :D

i did try thinking of placing it in shoopping malls but i dont think it will stand out unless i paid a LOT of incentives to the resellers.
So instead i decided on promotions and from there, attract both consumer and reseller all together to join in the community.
I do not lose anything. well, except advertising offline. Others are done online and since I have my own IT development team, it's free! :) yay!!
