Just read this article today.. the strength of the AUD is set to continue and predicted to match the greenback by christmas..

http://www.news.com.au/business/story/0,27753,24087710-462,00.html

THE Australian dollar will match the greenback by Christmas, if not within months, say economists who play down last week's local currency losses.
The Aussie suffered its first weekly loss in over a month amid lower prices for gold and fears of more subprime-related pain for local lenders after National Australia Bank's provisions for US losses topped $1 billion.

What are your thoughts?

Interesting prediction.. I just spotted this article on the same site

Dollar suffers fourth slide in row | Business Breaking News | News.com.au (http://www.news.com.au/business/story/0,27753,24088484-31037,00.html)

Today the AUD ended weaker again..

Looks like the Aussie Dollar is back on its way down now.. so much for the alignment with the USD.

It looks like everything is leveling out to what we are used to :)

Yea I noticed this about a week or so a go, I am glad I held some cash outside of australia now, so it should be bought back at a much higher rate :)

Excellent news for people come back to australia, but not so great news for those leaving, or importing.

What does this mean for someone say, working in USA from Australia via internet. I charge my client in Aussie dollars, which was great when I first started (back when they were practically even) but not so great now after the crash. What's the best currency to be billing in? I'm hearing Euros are more stable than AU or USD. Any thoughts?

I still trade in USD, and have been for a number of years, it certainly has fluctuated over that period, but has been the most common and easily understood from my international clients.

I say stick with USD for now.

Bill in USD.

I've been doing this for sometime now with a lot of success.

Am very happy with a low AUD.

The AUD has been steadily falling against the Chinese RMB over time, I think it's fair to say it's nowhere near a 25 year high for that exchange... luckily we're generating income in RMB :)

I'm liking the sound of this. I will make sure to buy lots of items from the US when this happens.
