need field experience in the corporate/business world

hey guys,

I would like to gain more 'field' experience in the business world. Before i venture out on my own, i would really like to learn what others are doing from within their organization. Was wondering if there is any company you know out there that specializes in business startups/ business consulting services or capital ventures
what other ways you think i should prepare myself to start my own business?

Books an seminars can tell you a far bit, but if you want the "hands on" you might need to get a job in an SME and see how it is done from the inside?

A few of the guys on this forum have used the Action Coach business coaching school and have said its great.

That being said, there is nothing like going out there and doing it yourself.. books are great, seminars are motivational, and forums like this are great for networking.

You could also even try and find yourself a mentor.. is there anyone close to you who runs a business? or anyone who is high up in an SME that you can take advice from?
