Not sure if many of you know whats been happening in Zimbabwe recently, but they have been going through an economic condition known as Hyperinflation, it has gotten so bad that they have had to start printing 500mil notes just to cope.

In fact it has gotten so out of control that the company responsible for providing the paper and equipment to print the money has now pulled out which means that Zimbabwe's inflation issues are just going to get worse.

Have a look at this article - Lack of bank note paper threatens Zimbabwe economy - Los Angeles Times (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-money14-2008jul14,0,3947241.story)

I am assuming this type of environment is driven by corruption, politics and war.. but do you think this type of hyperinflation is possible in strong established economies?

It's absolutely insane what's happening over there, though I wish we could find a foreign exchange office here that traded Zimbabwe dollars, simply as I'd love to have a billion dollar bill for around $1.

I do hope, for the innocent citizens of the country's sake, however, that things get under control soon enough.
