Hey All,

I have been working on a new website.. as well as this one, and would like to hear some feedback prior to going live in a few days.

The site is Appbid : Buy and Sell Facebook and Opensocial Applicaitons (http://www.appbid.com)

It basically does what it says.. you can buy and sell facebook applications on it!

All feedback would be appreciated..

PS: please dont register or post anything on it yet.. as its still being worked on!

Looks good man. Is there a big market for these facebook apps...? I nknow everytime I log on there's another 3-4 requests to get new apps, so you could be onto a nice juicy biz there.

Well I hope so.. like you there are always new ones being added, and you can make some big bucks by having ads on them, I currently have a couple of apps running with ads and am making a few $ here and there.. But I think the money is in the buying/selling of them.

I sold an app two weeks ago for $800 that I bought for $250.. all I did was feed it some users, generate a small income and then sold it..

So I do think there is a market for it.. not only facebook but opensocial is starting to become a little more popular, this is Google's platform for myspace, hi5, bebo and a few of the other social networkign sites.. so if I can jump the gun and be there waiting for them to launch I could be on to something..

seems like there is very little competition out there aswell - get launched and known quicktime....

yea, we actually use the adanomics stats platform in our posts.. and have had great feedback from them.

there is competitiors now popping up since our launch.. but I think we have a great advantage for a number of reasons..

We will be adding a support forum, and an ebook series and a few other nice touches in the next few weeks.. we have had some great feedback from the facebook community!

We already have sponsors and 50 registered users.

Dude. This site will be big if you market it right. As its the first that I have seen in this field. Just a little bit of advertising and it will be pretty big. BTW do you monitor the bids or its like Ebay?

Well all of the transactions are done off site, which means the correspondence is between the buyer/seller and has nothing to do with AppBid, we just provide the service.

I do monitor all bids, and auctions and help each seller and buyer as best I can.

We have started promoting it quite heavily, we are getting approx 300 hits per day, we have just released an ebook.. and the official Press Release has been written and will be out hopefully today!

So its full steam ahead!

hey thats a great idea I had no idea there was such a big market for facebook apps, all i know is that every time I log in to facebook all I get is requests for them so if you can make money out of it seems like an untapped market.

well done the site looks great

Brendan,

This is a fantastic idea. Getting this service out there before anyone else has thought of it... Just your initial figures of 300 hits a day after launch is impressive.

Looking forward to receiving updates on it's progress!
