There has been a massive increase on online shopping and consumer confidence over the past decade in this regard, I would be interested to know how many of you do shopping on the internet and to what extent?

I buy quite a bit, usually stuff that I can wait for, such as DVDs, camera stuff and other gadgets, eBay gets a bit of a work out now and then also.

There was an article on ACA http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?mkt=en-AU&brand=ninemsn&vid=08467081-b7e3-4da1-953d-f046bd2f60e8 about online bargains etc....

I tend to keep an eye on Greysonline, oo.com.au and a few other sites for the occasional bargain.

I do a lot of shopping online, actually being the UK it was great doing my xmas shopping for guys in Australia, I bought everything on Australian online stores and had them sent locally as gifts, saved so much on postage from here to there, and the risk of losing the items!

We buy clothes - underwear in particular. Its only this last year that stockists in Australia have woken up and started stocking my size and I've been able to try before I buy. The range is still pathetic though, far more available from overseas. Postage for refunds/exchanges does get a bit pricey if things don't fit but if you have no other options, then you have no other options.

I've run a retail bookstore for about 20 years. I recently built my own website and am now well on my way to having a profitable online presence.
So far most of my sales are being made to regional Australia, to areas that may not have access to the products I sell.

Our Training Manuals have sold well for many years, but rising postage costs have forced us the to go digital. We no longer have any hard copies and sell on-line quite successfully.
A side benifit is customers can view a free sample before they buy, plus up-dating the manuals is so easy.

I am comfortable with anything that uses paypal as a payment processor. I buy heaps of ebooks through clickbank.

Not really an ebay fan. Got burnt once before when seller didn't deliver the goods.

I buy online all the time and also have a successful EBay store selling luxury beauty products. I have not had any problems with buyers - had the occasional person who didnt pay which ebay sorted out however I really think online shopping is the way to go. I have 100% feedback as a powerseller. Paypal as a payment processor is essential as you know the money is there instantly. Many of my customers are in remote places so it is providing them with access to products they would not buy otherwise.

I'm doing almost all my shoppings online. I can imagine myself going and waiting for hours until I will get something. Here is very simple, everything is one click away.

Yes i shop online most of times, becasue to go outside and then invest about 3 to 4 hours for shopping is not possible for me. There are many people who buy online because of that reason.

As I am regularly on the computer for work, i often do shopping online.
In the last month I have bought a Table cloth (http://www.anniebs.com.au/cat/index.cgi/shopfront/view_product_details?category_id=&product_id=1124957), a Magis Dishdoctor (http://www.bristolandbrooks.com.au/#gift.php?item=1205&n=Magis-Dish-Doctor&TB_iframe=true&height=370&width=600) and a Seiko Time Clock (http://www.bundyspecialists.com.au/time-clocks.php?id=5&b=Seiko-Time-Clocks) from off the net. Yes, I know I need to watch my online spending.

As long as the security certificate on the site is safe I have no qualms in buying off the net. If you are using chrome as your internet browser click on the little earth icon on the left of the url box, and it will tell you if the site is safe.

If you are thinking of setting up an online store, you need to make sure that the public considers your store safe and trustworthy. If your site is not high quality then consumers will not purchase product off your site.

I try to buy or source everything but groceries and clothes online. Some big items like furniture you can't necessarily buy online, but can still compare prices and quality before heading out to purchase ... saves so much time and shoe leather!

I buy online a lot! From eBay (although not so much lately) to small niche shops to larger online-only retailers. I have to admit that Amazon is my friend. :) The main reason I do this? This is twofold - firstly, the shops in and around where I live and work hold very little interest for me; and the price and range: I find online stores (even those based in Australia) to be much cheaper and with a better range.

Normally I prefer online shopping. Because it provides us a lots of choices in a small moment of time. Also no hustle-bustle, no tired no tension.

online shopping has many benefits over a window shopping.
even it is becoming too self now a days.
one can get quality item in reasonable price.
there you get exposure to huge number of products and can compare them easily .

We have built a number of online stores and also launched one ourselves. From my experience once people have developed a level of trust with a website they are reasonably comfortable buying from that website. Personally I have been buying things online for years.

Call me a webtart, but I do most of my shopping online these days. I'm in the UK at the moment and my local supermarket (which is part of a national chain) delivers to my door for an extra £5 on the cost of my order. It's so much easier than fighting for a parking space, having your ankles clipped by shopping carts and standing in line for 30 minutes while somebody in front of you is paying for a month's worth of shopping in 1p pieces.

With Christmas coming, I try to avoid the crowds by buying most of my presents from websites. I also love the secret thrill that goes with waiting for packages to arrive.

i always shop online. It means I don't need to talk to 'retail assistants' on stores who have no idea what retail means and can lend no assistance.

Online shopping offers many advantages. You can choose any time of the day or night to get on the Web and shop, you have the ability to compare prices from hundreds of different vendors and if you don't see what you want in one store online, you can simply move on to the next one, plus it's easy to access consumer reviews for pretty much any product you can think of online, which makes for more informed purchases.
