hey, i just spent 1 hour trying to get my picture next to my name but can't work it out. I am pretty new to this forum stuff but even I should be able to work that out. Creeps. Can anyone tell me before I go mad.

Try the settings button.

Go to settings (its in the top right corner of the page)
Left hand side halfway down you will see a link that says "Edit Avatar". Click on it.
Then you can choose generic avatars or even better a picture that better sums you up.
Let me know if you have any more issues.

Got to say - for new members this isn't as easy as it could be. It took me ages to figure out that I had to verify my account with the email you sent before I could get a custom image up.

Most forums are set up in this fashion, they are a great example of a great piece of web software designed in the I.T. industry. Try getting an ABN from the ATO website and you will see similar headaches! lol
Plus there are a lot that have been before us that have spoiled it and hence we have to jump through hoops.
Email verification is fairly standard practice these days though, what with all the web robots etc out there and Spammers, we can be grateful that this actually enhances our overall user experience as forum users.
Doesn't stop it being a pain in the bum though
Cheers

I like your avatar Mr Monopoly. Thinking of upgrading mine in 2012.

Go on then... You talked me into it. No real surprises what my avatar is going to be of though...
If anybody has a picture they'd like to resize for avatar purposes, the following site is ideal. Remember to set pixels at 150 or your avatar will be too big for the website.

I'll join in too. Every bit as soon as my old head can get around it. Where do I find a picture of a wrinkly gent looking bored in his kitchen waiting for next year to start? HAHA!

Got one! And before anybody asks, I'm delighted to tell you that the picture isn't of me. This man is much younger, and much better looking!

Big question, why wear a hat when you are naked?
Surely it is redundant?

Absolutely not. If you wear a hat, how can you be considered naked?
That's what I intend telling the police if they catch me anyway!
