Just read this article in the age, looks like vacancy rates are very very low and potential tenants are paying above the asking price for renting..

Looks like a good time to invest in inner city melbourne.. or maybe we may have missed the boat?

Come to the Gold Coast, Robina/Varsity area (where Skilled Stadium is (home of the Titians NRL))
Has become the CDB of the Gold Coast, I would be investing here if I had the money, Gold Coast is only going to get bigger.

Watch interest rates and banks willingnes to lend at the moment.... it's getting tighter and tighter.

Jam, i believe the Gold coast will continue to grow, even for the next 5-10 years.

I'd also be looking at Newcastle in the hunter valley. Their airport (not sure if it has been released) is now opening them selves to international flights. Plans around the city ahve already been put in for more accomodation and services etc... it'd be a long term shot, but definately worht a 20 year stint!

What is it that is causing the gold coast to continually grow? there has to be a breaking point?

I agree, I have an IP in Melbourne CBD and over the past 2 years we have been able to increase our rents dramatically.. who would have thought you could charge over $300 a week for a 1 bedroom apartment.

I guess with the increasing demand, and decreasing supply these can only go upwards, especially since interest rates are still rising, means more of a demand for rentals..

In the terms of gold coast, very interesting, it has been booming there for years, what has been driving it?

I would guess its just a great place to live, there is a lot of space out here that has been developed over the past 10 years.
