Does anyone here trade in forex? I have been looking into it. It all seems a bit crazy, but looks pretty fun since its a very live sort of market..

I would love to know how I could get started ? Anyone got any tips?

My day job is actually as a forex broker. We help businesses with currency exposure minimise their risk, and tailor solutions in order to maximise profits from the timing of the markets.

That being said, to make a living trading the markets full time is by no means an easy task. If you are looking at doing it make sure you read up on proper risk management. You should be risking no more that 2% of your invested capital per trade.

Let me know if you have nay other questions

Forex - Compulsive Gambling for the Thinking Man!

I've dabbled with Forex in the past and made a little money from it, but the levels of risk associated with it reminds me of poker. Forex is best played with a system and with a careful eye on your 'bankroll'. Unless you can afford to lose significant amounts of money, earning a full-time income from trading would be very difficult for most people and it's not always easy to curb any gung-ho tendencies you might have (a trait that sperates good poker players from the bad ones).

Most Forex brokers offer a trial where the markets can be played 'for fun'. If you're going to chance your arm, do your research and get in some practice first.

Get a demo account at www.fxcm.com.au (http://www.fxcm.com.au) and try it. However, trading live is not like trading a demo account. Going negative on a real deal hurt and make you doubt yourself, where with a demo it is easy to sit it out.
