His business skills and savvy is what awes me. I especially like how he has cornered the media industry. And while so many of the Liberal news channels hate him I actually enjoy listening to his networks.

Seioursly he is not given as much credit as he is due. And I kind of hate the fact how the liberal media in the US hates him just because he does not follow their mold of "news".

Rupert Murdoch enjoys a particularly unique niche amongst Australian Entrepreneurs.

That he has conquered the Australian Market and then moved to the US says much about his appetite for (destruction) acquisition...

Rupert Murdoch, AC, KSG is Australian-born American media mogul and founder, chairman and CEO of News Corporation. Rupert Murdoch was mentioned three times at one time among the 100 most influential people in the world. Murdoch, he announced the transfer of the headquarters of News Corp. from Adelaide, Australia to the United States. Murdoch group confusing experience with Thomas Playford in South Australia and his political activities early in the Australia pattern he repeated throughout the world.

I worked for Rupert Murdoch back in the early 70's, and the thing that use to amaze me was the depth of his knowledge of the large number of companies he owned back then. He was up-to-date on day to day issues in even small companies. Plus his strategic plans, even back then, were way ahead of the market. A brilliant business mind. However, I have to say his politics in the US have gone mad, his Fox channel is just encouraging 'red-necks', maybe he's finally loosing the plot, Murdock used to be more principled than that.

to me rupert murdoch represents whats wrong with the world
when someone can 'corner a market' like he has it makes way for exactly what his news services do..conform to an extent, they push there agenda and quite litreally fuck up the world

business is a great thing, but should we really support this amount of control by one group?
to me he is not an australian

Living in England because of my working commitments, I can assure you there's nothing admirable about this man. He's absolutely hated in the UK and has been for many years. Murdoch is known over here as a habitual job-slaying egotist who has consistently used his influences for financial gain at the expense of others.

Nothing has been proven yet to indicate that Murdoch approved the phone tapping activity by News of the World staff. However, it seems unlikely that somebody within an organisation would tap into the phone line of the parents of a murdered schoolgirl without some sort of approval from the higher levels of the hierarchical structure.

I struggle to consider him an Australian too. Thankfully, the Brits are still too busy enthusing over Paul Hogan after all these years to really care about him!

As our resident Pom, the feelings towards Rupert Murdoch, and News International in particular, are at an all-time low. Obviously, there is nothing at all to say that Rupert Murdoch ever approved some of the phone-tapping operations over the past few years but as the key figure within his own organisation, he's the obvious hate figure for the British public.

I have other reasons for not particularly caring for RM. The Sky TV Network has revolutionised the way British sports are 'packaged' but top-level football has changed for the worse. The knock-on effects of producing the so-called 'best league in the world' has isolated the traditional supporter and the ridiculous financial demands of players has led to a major increase in ticket prices. This means that working class supporters following top-level teams can no longer afford to watch their sides play 'live'. The way the game has been packaged might be exciting for the armchair supporter, but it's been nothing more than a death knoll for the traditional fan who simply wants to go to a game.

Random rant, I know, but Murdoch will have even more to answer for when our national game implodes and club begin to go out of business while they chase the riches that Sky TV offer for Premiership sides.

None of you know what the hell I'm talking about, do you? :D
