I have always wondered this, and how you decide which to use and which not to use, what gadgets could you not live with out to make your business run easier?

I currently use a Blackberry and a small Tablet notebook as my weapons of choice when mobile and have a laptop and server back at the office for everything else.

Personally I don't think I could live without email on the move anymore, and wonder how you guys deal with communications when out and about in the business world?

Weapons of choice are (and i always change and swap around) a mobile phone such as a blackberry with internet and email capabilities.

My trusty laptop with a 3 mobile broadband connection (good value!!!)

And my wireless bluetooth headset for the motorcycle helmet for when i feel like going two wheels.

I use a Sony Ericsson P990i for managing everything, its a fantastic phone!

I have just loaded blackberry connect on to it which give me blackberry push emails as well.

I am very excited about the new SE phone coming out as well, it should be great its the G900 - http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/corporate/products/phoneportfolio/specification/g900

A small touch screen with the same OS as the P series Sonys.

has anyone got an Iphone yet?

A friend of mine has an iphone, its a slick looking piece of kit... however I'm still a believer that its a first generation device and I think i'll wait until the second generation before I get one, there are probably a few features that it is missing - 3G etc that I would prefer to have.

That G900 looks awesome Gerry.. I might have to look at that one, I have also been keeping a close eye on the X1 from sony also.. http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/mobilephones/overview/x1

Looks like it could be good competition for the iphone :)

One of my mates works as an advisor to some telco companies and had an i-phone late last year when they were testing them on our networks etc... Pretty darn awesome piece of machinery. My initial concern was the fact that it does not support the 3G network, however, I do have on good authority that Telstra will be soon or already have released the iphone WITH Next G capabilities.... read about it 'here'. Yes you most definately can

it runs Windows Mobile 6

Yes to push emails and IMAP.

If you have a SBS Server pretty much install your ssl cert onto the phone, change some IIS permissions and your ready to go.

Much easier than blackberry enterprise server installations onto a SBS.

Looks like HTC are releasing a new handset to rival the iphone.. the touch diamond

HTC's iPhone killer is a real gem - BizTech - Technology - theage.com.au (http://www.theage.com.au/news/biztech/htcs-iphone-killer-is-a-real-gem/2008/05/14/1210444497704.html)

I think it could be the goods :)

I think all the phone manufacturers are having a bot of a knee jerk reaction to the iphone.

I just read this in the paper today - BlackBerry to fight iPhone, by Thunder | Australian IT (http://www.australianit.news.com.au/story/0,24897,23724409-24169,00.html)

If i were to put my self in the shoes of some of the largest phone manufacturers, i'd be edgy about the i-phones official release as well!!! All you have to do is look what the ipod, ipod shuffle and other ipod related things have done to the portable music world..... ipod = less functionality then most other mp3/4 players, 2-3 times the price and it still outsold and is number 1 for the portable music industry (even though the main memory and other componantry is built by the number 2 place holder.... there's abit of research for you ;-) ).

Yeah, nowadays one cannot do without a high tech gadget; I still have my notebook and pencils with me where ever I go.
