Guys, found this article in the age this morning, looks like banks are starting to see the effects of an economic slow down in Australia.. which could be good news for households.. but not necessarily for business..

check out the article

Evidence mounts of a slowing economy | theage.com.au (http://business.theage.com.au/evidence-mounts-of-a-slowing-economy/20080429-29bb.html)

So what does this mean to you, do you think we are? Do think we are now on a downwards cycle?

Interesting article Brendan,

The economic slow down in Australia is taking a decent chunk out of some industries. I am currently working (not for much longer) in the promotional and marketing industry. Companies are finding they have less funds left over, when this happens, the first area to be cut is promotional materials. The slump in the industry has forced a lot of companies to start lowering prices, impacting on margins etc. This is affecting the larger business as it's getting tough to meet overheads etc. Coupled with the price increases coming from china (where most things are manufactured), this isn't helping.

That's my 2 bob worth ;-)

I hope we are on a downwards cycle, a lot of people I talk to are really starting to feel how expensive everything has become, we have been going through this boom stage for over 10 years now, so it is time for a slow down!
