To start your own site, takes a lot, especially if you are in unfamiliar territory. You will need to know the how to market online, and how to connect and build the relationship side of your efforts as well. There are also techniques, tactics and tools you will need to be successful and profitable online.

My advice if you decide to start your own site would be
- read up about wordpress and how to make a blog using it
- read up about writing blogs, and monetizing your blog
- choose a blog topic that interests you, and start writing :)

I would imagine the site your selling for is well established otherwise it would be pretty hard to sell space on the site.??? And are you earning any money?
As you are on commission why don’t you represent other sites as well this might give you a bigger market to sell to with more options for the prospects to buy space on a site which would be relevant to their own market i.e selling space on a site about fishing to a company who sells boats would be more targeted than trying to sell them space on a knitting site.
Then I would take Karl's advice and get a site up and running and learn as you go.

Yes of-course you can start your own website. At least new starting is necessary. Also you are related to same field.

I would say, stay with this company for 6 months and learn how they operate their business, then open up your own venture.
That is if time is on your hands.

If you are comfortable with the money you are making there then yea just stay there,
But if you want to move on to bigger things then I suggest you do
Try to find out what the company is doing and then do the same but do it even better

Make sure you are passionate about what you are stepping out to do, if you view it as just a job to pay the bills and get you by it won't work and you might as well stay with who you work for.

You should just go with whatever you feel more comfortable with, if you want to keep working for that company and if you feel you are making as much money as you want to make. Then yea why not stay with them
But if you feel like you can do more then yea it would be better to leave

much better to have your site,
and make sure to have more tactics
Tactics are important when you start a new site

type a few questions into youtube:
ie how do i use wordpress?
How do do SEO

then follow the links until you get bored, if you are still reading in 3-4 days then you should go out and do it.
If you are discouraged after 30 minutes then stick with your day job.

If you think you can keep up than I'd say go ahead and build your own site. Your experience would be enough for you to be able to stay in this industry. Check this out: http://www.freelancefacts.com/2011/05/five-tips-to-become-successful.html

Keep on keeping on...
