Tricky question - where do you get beta testers for a new website, without having to pay them or whatnot?

I'm almost at the point of being able to test the core functionality of my new site, provided I don't go having this baby tomorrow. The baby being due so soon is making me meander along at a reasonably leisurely pace, since if I push to get the website up and released early I'm not going to be around to fix bugs.

The easiest option I can think of at this point is to make a whole bunch of fake users on our LAN and run it on those using some scripts, but Real People give feedback.

I can't post the URL here because I don't want Google finding it, but I can give it out via PM. Last thing I need is regular joes that don't understand the testing phase of a website signing up at this point.

PM me and I can have a quick look when I get a chance - although am about to move house so will be tied up for the next week or so.

The catch is you have to actually *use* the features over a reasonable timeframe not take a quick look - it also has fairly restrictive terms and conditions and if you only have business directory websites, you won't meet them, and I'm not bending that for testing. There's almost nothing there if you're not signed in and don't have content uploaded ...

Its a new (restricted) advertising network - connecting publishers and advertisers, but obviously without money exchanging hands until the rotation and bidding code works, so at some point in the next few weeks I could really use some real sites to run the rotation past, assuming it works OK with bots and fake data on a lan.

This baby is driving me bonkers though so I don't think there's any rush, with my luck it'll arrive on the weekend or something. Or today ....

I'm still looking for people who might be interested in doing some testing.

You need the right kind of website though, not just any site owner can test. The TOS are quite restrictive. PM me if you're interested, this is probably going to be open for the next 6 months, or however long it takes to finish the website. Hopefully less than 6 months O_o
