I need one of these - Worldpay is another gateway I looked into some years ago.

I'm sure there are others besides these and the OPs ... offering.

HWT, have you looked at a few Australian Payment solutions?

I have tried both eway and e-path.. both are pretty good, I would say eway is much more superior.. but also more expensive.

As they say though, you get what you pay for.

There's an ad on this page for securepay.com.au too. I haven't looked at gateways for aaaaages (that'll be the last thing I do on my current project) and there seems to be a lot more around these days.

I never thought a adventure could be fraught with so many mine fields
I came on line to make money after being in business for many years
having listened to people saying that you will make money in the first ninety days or your money back I think it is likely to be ninety months but I live in hope of having to have a banker one day
cheers Peter

I use eWay. I love that I can use it for online orders and secure phone/person orders too through a web browser. I'd definitely use it again for future ventures. It's working really well for our business. $350 annual fee and $0.50 per transaction. The transaction fee is not ideal if you're moving a lot of low priced items, but it's fine for us as minimum sale is $99.00 but most are at least several hundred, if not in excess of $1k so it makes the transaction fee negligible.

The merchant account fees however, they sting a LOT more :(

eway (http://eway.com.au) is really easy to use, is integrated with most banks, and most shopping scripts, their support is great - they are always on live chat. I recently wrote an article on our blog awebsitedesigner.com.au - ecommerce payment gateway options (http://awebsitedesigner.com.au/miscellaneous/ecommerce-payment-gateway-options/) which talks about a few options and explains the terms etc. After I posted the blog the guy from eway even emailed me and thanked me so they are even smart enough to use Google Alerts!

A new kid on the block has also popped up lately called Recurly. Its for subscription based payments and you can use the service per period for a fee plus a per transaction fee. It is based in the states.

May be worth a look.

Paypal is quite a good solution for startups with very little capital. Some of the banks will lock you in to a fixed term with break fees and high annual costs.

paypal, securepay or Eway is my preference and from experience it is the best way to go if you are going for a quality merchant service.
