Hey Luke,
Welcome to the forums!
I checked out your site, looks good.
So, you want to dominate your competition? very ambitious goal since you will be playing with the big boys with very big wallets!
How is your business sustainable if you don't charge for your ads, and I can not see any advertising on it as yet...
Apart from offering a free service, what else do you think will set your business apart from the big guns like drive.com.au and carpoint?
Seems like a really exciting business, good luck.
Thanks Brendan. :)
There are other ways to menetize my website that I intend on exploring as the website grows. The most obvious one being advertising, I'm also interested in affiliate marketing and setting up a subsidiary service or company to fully utilise the traffic leaving aussieautos.com
As aussieautos grows and becomes more costly for myself, so will the fees and charges for advertising. If MySpace can become as profitable as it is from offering an obsolutely free service, than I'm sure I can do it too on a smaller scale. At the moment, the costs involved for running the site is low and If i were financially concerned I would think of it as a return on investment.
To be truthful, I only want to be able to say that the website is mine and that I'm providing a highly regarded service. The best things in life are free. ;)
Hey Luke
What uni you at? And what are you studying?
Good to see another young Gold Coaster online, dont see to many of them around.
Nice site, you might want to host that on an Australian server or maybe get a .com.au domain just so google can pick it up when searched for 'Australian pages only'
Good luck with the website
Thanks Jam :)
I'm studying a Diploma of IT (Networking) - Now completed :D
Hi Luke, great site its a huge market and should be a good one to get involved in.
How are you advertising right now? Can I suggest that you tackle some of the huge car forums that are floating about, like calaisturbo.com.au - Powered by vBulletin (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au) , Skylines Australia (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com) , PerformanceForums - Powered by vBulletin (http://www.performanceforums.com)
Those sorts of places will be invaluable to getting your name out there.
Good luck mate!

Hi Luke,
Welcome to aussietycoon
I'm curious about your Affiliate Program? How will this work if your not making money, I assume you wont be giving people money if dont make any to generate the cashflow?
The affiliate signup will be used for competitions for tracking. ;)

its good, but...
It needs some work. Basicly I would give it a more web 2.0 feel. Have some more advanced features such as sorting, favorites etc.
I would make the layout a little easier and nicer. Its a good start, but it still feels too out of the box for me.

crackers, what do you mean by a web 2.0 feel.. do you have any examples?
Hi guys, I'm back. After some feedback I decided to give Aussie Autos a more attractive layout - feel free to check it out. :)

Hey Luke.. good to see you back!
So, since my last piece of advice, apart from the site re-design, whats your plans to take down the big players in the market?
