I noticed the question of facebook advertising has come up a few times over the past few weeks.
We have been heavily involved in advertising businesses (including our own) on Facebook for well over 12 months, and we are currently running one for www.tradewebsites.com.au (http://www.tradewebsites.com.au)
We have found it to be super effective.. but only if you do it right.
Your first instinct will be to set up your ad to be shown to as many people as possible.. DO NOT DO THIS!
If you do this your ads are going to get clicked by people who are just nosy and want to see whats happening.. rather than the people who are going to buy from you.
It is best that you set it up so that you target only those that will buy your product.. target a small niche, nothing more than 10,000 users.. and make sure that the keywords and demographics that you use match that niche and its a niche that people will actually buy!
Once you have done that... make sure the page that they land on actually shows them what they want.. don't just send them to your homepage.. send them to a dedicated landing page that says exactly what you are offering.. either capture their details here.. or try and get them to you shopping cart.
It sometimes even pays to send them to a page that says something like... 'Special for Facebook users only!'..
That sort of stuff is a lot more engaging.. and is likely to qualify your leads a lot better than a broad approach..
If you got any questions or advice.. I would love to hear it..!
