Is all this video marketing stuff just hype?

I have been approached by literally hundreds of people over the past month or so asking about video marketing and how effective it is online - even though I have only dabbled in it myself.

I even remember somewhere that we search more in YouTube than we do in Google?

Personally I always put video in the 'too hard' basket and left it to the experts, except for the occasional phone upload to youtube.

But then I was emailed about this guy Andy Jenkins aka The video boss about a new product launch he is doing and I thought I would share it with you guys as I think its pretty damn cool.. and he nails the explanation of how well video works online.. i.e; he is a top salesman :rolleyes:

I don't usually post affiliate links* in this forum as I don't think its the place really.. it is usually only something I would promote to my other micro niche subscribers, but I think this is going to be pretty big and I don't think Australian Entrepreneurs have grasped the concept enough yet.

.. and it would be very cool if you guys were ahead of the game when it comes to video in Australia.

Its just a great video and I think we can all take something from it.

I guess this also makes me ask.. have you tried video to promote your business or have you even been thinking about it?

Awesome video mate, thanks for sharing.

I think that sometimes we can become immune to the benefits of video marketing because we see it every day. But not our customers... They see leadership and professionalism when we show them a well produced video.

My business helps 'offline' small businesses with their internet marketing strategies, and this is certainly going to be a big part of that moving forward.

No worries Vortilla.. I just received an email from the guy Andy that made that video and that page alone got OVER 1,000 comments from people who AGREE we NEED video to continue to thrive online as small business owners and entrepreneurs.

He said the the most common question he kept getting was.. "Where do I START!?"



So he just released a second video.. looks like he is doing a series.

I am definitely going to look at using video marketing as part of my business, I guess I just gotta get my video voice up to scratch, lol!

That was a pretty cool video - we're going to make some vids for our site and not just to showcase our products - we'll also show people how to hang wallpaper, remove old wallpaper, deal with colour schemes, stuff like that. Can't wait!

Excellent idea Sandra.. I reckon a few how to Videos on Youtube would also be great for your websites rankings as well..
