I was reading the paper this morning and they were talking about how old media such as TV and radio really needs to get in with the new media.

People are wanting on demand television and music.. and they want it still to be premium quality.. we all already know that.

But what took my eye is how one of the big guys from the media company (can't remember who it was now) said.. in order for this to work, we need to be part of the circle of trust with facebook and twitter users.

That made me think.. social media is having a huge impact on large businesses.. they now know that customers voices can be heard almost instantly when there is something they don't like.. by potentially millions of people.

This could also work the other way.. have a great product or do something awesome.. and everyone knows about it straight away.

So as an entrepreneur.. what are you doing to get your customers, clients and online profile within or part of a circle of trust via social media?

I coudn't agree more how import social media nowadays. We just currently made our facebook and twitter account for our business. We find it so useful and effective. :-)

We have a Twitter and Facebook account and I also participate in an online interior decorating forum (as silkinteriors - up front about who we are and what we do).

We recently asked Facebook 'fans' to help us out by telling us which wallpaper designs they think we should feature at the next home show we attend. We also encouraged the decorating forum folk to participate - the first to post won tickets to the home show.

We also upload pics from some of the wallpaper installation jobs we do.

Open to suggestions for how we can utilise our Facebook and Twitter accounts more!
