So we know title tags and alt attributes are good to have for keyword density etc ... but are they as good as body text? Is it still better for SEO to provide some actual body text that uses the words - and include image based keywords as well? Any thoughts ... ?

This isn't answering your question - but just some friendly advice:

When designing your email marketing campaign be sure to comply with the Spam Act requirements:

1. Only send emails to people who have consented to receive them
2. Include your name and contact details
3. Have an unsubscribe facility.

The penalty for sending a single email that fails to comply with these rules can result in a fine.

You can find out more about email marketing rules and other business regulatory requirements in the free emag on my website - www.bluemercuryconsulting.com.au (http://www.bluemercuryconsulting.com.au)

Keep in mind that each search engine, and there are dozens, use different calculations for search engine position.

Just about all have content as the most important part of any website and that is why they talk about rankings being based on relevancy.

You need to optimise your content for SEO, but also design it in a persuasive form that leads will become sales. Optmisation is not the final step in business websites, sales are.

Few SEO businesses write content persuasive or well and often charge per hour to write your content. My recommendation is to consider using a website copywriter to write your content after briefing them on your website purpose and target market.

If your content lacks substance or action plans, your high numbers of visitors will exit without purchase anyway. Dont focus on SEO at the expense of a useful website.

Hi Kumarudaya

I agree with you that email marketing is a cost effective way to advertise, but yoou have forgotten some important factors that some business owners may not be aware of.

All emails sent must comply with the Spam Act or you risk huge fines for each email.
YOu have to collect and store your customers email addresses to send them emails. Again, you have to have their written permission to send them emails or you will be breaching Spam Act.
To send to other potential customers you will need their email address and this costs time and money to collect. Again you need written permission, or records to show that they gave permission for you to send emails to them.
Your email marketing response is only as good as the quality of your email database and most have at least 10% errors.
The response rate for email marketing is less than %5 depending on the quality and structure of your email.
Most email marketing databases charge a fee of 5 cents per email and you have to buy in packages of 1000 usually. On top of this a handling fee of some kind is also added on.

When Jemspitter mentions e-marketing I wonder if they are referring to email marketing or electronic marketing? It sounds like they are talking about webpage SEO.

Remember, another important factor to consider is how many other websites link back to yours and the quality of those pages too.

jemspitter website content is definitely one of the most important factors in SEO.
The main goal of search engines is to give their customers (the searchers) the best and most suitable results possible for what they're searching for. So your website's content is important because search engines want to make sure they give results that have relevant content for the searcher to read.

Title Tags are also important and you should try and include your keyword for each page in the page title. Search engines basically look at the content on your website pages from top to bottom and give greater weighting to those keywords closest to the top of the page.

And as RyanChadwick said backlinks to your site are very important to search engine rankings because it's a way for search engines to gauge 'popularity' of your website and whether the content of your website is liked by other people.

Anyway I hope this helps a little, if you have any other questions more than happy to help out just send me a message.

Good luck with it all
